 Whale Watching - Hervey Bay

The towns of Maryborough and Hervey Bay form the centre of the Fraser Coast region which is situated approximately 250 kilometres north of Brisbane. The area is also the gateway to World Heritage listed Fraser Island. Hervey Bay’s protected waters offer visitors the chance to experience the majesty of the migrating humpback whales and is often regarded as the Whale Watching Capital of the world.  The pristine beaches offer families a safe and enjoyable holiday destination

Maryborough, one of Queensland’s oldest communities, is rich in heritage attractions. The Wharf Street precinct and privately owned historic “Queenslander” style homes provide visitors with an insight into life in early Queensland.

The Maryborough Camera Club was started in 1953 and as one of the oldest camera clubs in Queensland has been meeting members needs continuously since then.

The club aims to develop the photographic knowledge and skills of members by sharing information and experience through lectures, workshops, outings, mentoring and competitions. Because of their common interest members also enjoy the social aspects of photography and life-long friendships have developed between members.

In addition to intraclub activities club members regularly participate in interclub activities with members from other camera clubs from both the local region and across the State. Club activities include competitions, salons, lectures, workshops and outings.
